When Steve asked me where I wanted to go to dinner for my birthday, I said "I want the best pasta on the planet!"
You may think I meant Italy...nope. He knew I meant Fiorella in Philadelphia, PA.
It was a joke, but it also wasn’t :)
While we're at it, why not spend 4th of July weekend in the "The Birthplace of America"? So we did it, we spent a weekend in Philly to kick off our best summer ever and enjoy the best pasta on the planet!
Fiorella Part 1...
Fiorella is one of those places that’s so good, but 438 miles from home, so you just dream about it. You question yourself, was it really that good? Was it the best pasta ever?
Let me tell you, we weren’t wrong. It’s that good!
Fiorella Part 2...
Steve did it. We flew to Philly and he booked dinner at Fiorella twice.
On night #2, we enjoyed their Pasta Club with wine pairing.
In addition to GREAT pasta, we enjoyed a lot more that Philly has to offer...
Angelo's Pizza is known for really great pizza and subs...so we tried both. It's a take-out only establishment and the line is always out the door and around the corner. This is some good pizza!
Happy hour oysters and cocktails at Pearl & Mary's was a nice way to start out the night.
Zahav is an Israeli restaurant that has received many accolades, including the 2019 James Beard award for the Best Restaurant in the Country. They only offer a coursed menu option and it's a lot of food!
Breakfast at Middle Child was very good. We enjoyed their Shopsin Club sandwich.
Brü Craft & Wurst is an indoor bierhall where we enjoyed a beer and some fútbol.

Liberty Bell, Angelo’s Pizza (Philly style), $2 happy hour oysters, and my goodness…the best pasta at Fiorella.
Cheers to having so much fun!
