December continued to treat us well and the beginning of 2017 has started off with a bang! Not only did we clinch the championship in our fantasy football league, but we leave on Saturday for a week in Mexico. We’re headed back to our beloved Ocean Maya Royale and we couldn’t be more excited! Here is a little run down of what’s been happening in the life of SMS squared.
Christmas went by so fast. Neither of us took much time off, but we made the best of it. We attended a fun "gingerbread house" party with some friends and the Chambers and Schurs had the best houses on the block! Steve and I won the prize for the best gingerbread house, but I have to say our kit set us up for success. It was pretty legit.
Steve and I spent Christmas Eve at home and we enjoyed several great meals, watched A LOT of football, opened a few gifts, and enjoyed the time together.
Steve worked on Christmas Day, but I was able to spend a few minutes at brunch with my family before heading off to The Q for the much anticipated Cavs vs. Warriors rematch. I attended with my friend Kellie and we had a great time. The game was arguably one of the best regular season games in Cavs history and we were excited to be there live and in person!
On Christmas night, Steve and I spent some time with Sean, Alex, Lou and Jo before calling it a night after a really long day!
New Year’s Eve was a blast. We enjoyed dinner with friends at Deagan’s in Lakewood. Steve and I both enjoyed a filet with lobster mashed potatoes and it was delicious! After dinner, we joined even more friends at Kevin and Lisa’s for drinks, dessert, champagne and casino night where Kevin and Lisa were our Black Jack and Roulette dealers. It was awesome.
Next up was New Year’s Day and NFL WEEK 17!!! Most of you know we revolve every Sunday during the NFL season around our fantasy football team. Beginning with the live draft in Alexandria, VA over Labor Day weekend to week 17 on New Year’s Day…it’s a lot. Steve and I share a team in this high stakes league and we put a lot of blood (ok, not really), sweat and tears into the success of our team. I’m proud to say we work very well together and our hard work has paid off!
WE FINALLY WON!
Kevin and Lisa were there to share in our glory along with lots of bubbly and champagne goggles. Hilarious.
Sending warm wishes from Mexico. Cheers!
